When the Flathead Community Foundation (FCF) was founded in 2005, it joined more than 500 community foundations in all 50 states that have one thing in common: helping people improve the quality of life and make a lasting difference in the places they love.

We do this by gathering donors’ gifts in permanent endowments or pass-through funds; by growing individual funds through wise investment management; and by distributing fund proceeds according to donor wishes through grants to local charities.

We provide great flexibility and tax advantages, and save you the paperwork hassle and expense of setting up and administering a private foundation. Efficiencies of scale keep our management fees remarkably low so donors enjoy the personal satisfaction of seeing their gift have the greatest possible impact.

Donations to FCF are tax deductible. We accept gifts of all sizes from individuals, families, businesses and organizations that may set up a personalized fund with us, or use our general fund. We invest and administer all funds, and use earnings to award grants to qualified charities according to each donor’s intent. We are dedicated to serving the Flathead Valley; however, grants may be directed to charities outside this area, as well.

As a non-profit public charity, the Flathead Community Foundation was created by and for the people of the entire Flathead Valley. It is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors who knows this community. We are dedicated to meeting its current and emerging needs through faithful stewardship of the funds entrusted to us.
